• Finalists Announced for 2023 Business Awards

    Nominations for the 2023 Airdrie Business Awards were open from June 5th to July 28th and over 150 nominations were received. Nominees are independently adjudicated by a 3rd party to determine the finalists for each category. Winners will be announced at the Airdrie Business Awards Gala on October 19th, 2023 at Bert Church LIVE Theatre.

    “The Airdrie Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to be celebrating so many amazing businesses and non-profit organizations again this year through ten different award categories. As always, the businesses and organizations that were nominated are all incredibly deserving, and we are so proud of each finalist as they represent what makes Airdrie such a special community. The evening will be a celebration for our entire community to showcase, and support local!” says Marilyne Aalhus, Executive Director of the Airdrie Chamber of Commerce.

    Hugh Hamilton Business Leader Award – This award is presented to an individual who has been operating a business for at least 3 years and has demonstrated exceptional leadership, business acumen, philanthropy, and commitment to the Airdrie business community. The Hugh Hamilton Business Leader Award is pre-selected by a Business Leader Nomination Committee, and the recipient will be announced and honoured at the gala.

    Business of the Year Award – Presented to a business, that has been operating for at least 3 years, that best exhibits outstanding achievement in customer service, growth, and community involvement. This year’s finalists are Chelsea’s Custom Cakes, Revival Therapeutics and Performance, Rob Ing Productions Ltd., Second Generation Exteriors Contracting Inc., and The Pest Control Guy.

    Community Attraction Award – Presented to a business that has been operating for at least 2 years and has major influence on attracting visitors and residents to engage in the community; making Airdrie a more attractive place to work, live, visit, and play. This year’s finalists are 948 Brewing Company Ltd., Airdrie Farmers Market, Boulevard Home Inc., Color Me Mine, and The Squiggly Pig.

    Emerging Business Award – Presented to a business that has been operating for less than 3 years, showing success and demonstrates a connection to the Airdrie community. This year’s finalists are Brella Vida, Centre préscolaire et parascolaire Les petits pieds inc., Confetis Event Décor, Pure Light Style, and Vintage Apothecary.

    Employer Excellence Award – Presented to a business that has been operating for at least 2 years and goes above and beyond for their employees and provides the best overall place to work. This year’s finalists are Airdrie Alarm and Surveillance Inc., Airdrie Puppy Pals, At Dawn Wellness, Centre préscolaire et parascolaire Les petits pieds inc., and Elements Dance Co.

    Exemplary Service Award – Presented to a business that has been operating for at least 2 years and provides an excellent customer service experience. The award will recognize a business that implements one or more major customer services initiatives. This year’s finalists are Airdrie Air Ltd., Gummi Boutique, PMC Plumbing, Revival Therapeutics and Performance, and TestTech Occupational Testing Solutions Inc.

    Greatest Impact Award – Presented to a business that has been operating for at least 2 years and has had the largest impact in the community through philanthropy, volunteerism, and overall commitment to making Airdrie a great place to live and do business. This year’s finalists are Airdrie Puppy Pals, Airdrie Music Lessons, The Beautiful Tooth Company, The Carre Group, and The Yoga Junction.

    Innovation Award – Presented to a business that has been operating for at least 2 years and demonstrates exceptional and transformative innovation and leadership in their processes, products, or services. This year’s finalists are Airdrie Music Lessons, Chelsea’s Custom Cakes, Energy Insulation, Revival Therapeutics and Performance, and The Pest Control Guy.

    Legacy Business Award – Presented to a business that is independently owned and operated, has been operating in Airdrie for at least 10 years, has shown sustained growth and contributions to local employment. This year’s finalists are airdrielife magazine, Airdrie Music Lessons, Cream Lingerie, Prairie Rose Crematorium and Funeral Services, and The Hair Lounge.

    Spirit of Airdrie Award – Presented to a non-profit that has been operating for at least 2 years and continuously serves and promotes Airdrie via specific programming, resources, assistance, and/or services they offer. This year’s finalists are Airdrie and District Victim’s Assistance Society (ADVAS), Airdrie Food Bank, Airdrie P.O.W.E.R., Airdrie Pride Society, and Volunteer Airdrie.

    The winners will be announced at the Airdrie Business Awards Gala on Thursday, October 19th and tickets are now available for purchase at airdriechamber.ab.ca.
